This World Netball Championships Safari takes you to one of Africa's most sought-after and premium wildlife destinations; Botswana is only a two-and-a-half-hour flight from Cape Town and is all about exclusivity, indulgence and raw Africa.
Botswana boasts many world-renown luxury safari properties, ranging from the classic, authentic canvas camps to the uber-luxurious offerings; still, all share the wildlife spectacle this remarkable country has to offer.
This wildlife-rich destination comprises a few iconic safari locations, but none as prominent as the Okavango Delta, a World Heritage Site listed in June 2014.
A Botswana safari would not be complete without a trip into the iconic Okavango Delta. More specifically, if possible, the Moremi National Park at the heart of the Delta. Exploring the Delta’s hidden waterways, a living ecosystem that is ever-evolving is unforgettable. It is here that we have chosen your safari, and we explore two vastly different biomes with a permanent water camp in the heart of the Delta, and a dry land camp further to the north east of the Delta's permanent waterways.
The Khwai Private Reserve is one of Botswana’s best kept secrets! Khwai Private Reserve is 200,000 hectares of pristine wilderness. That’s three times the size of South Africa’s Sabi Sands – and 300 times more private! It sits just to the north east of the Delta, adjacent to Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, and the landscape is one of the most diverse we’ve come across. Think mopane clusters jostling for space with riverine forest, acacia woodland, seasonal waterholes and winding channels leading from the mighty Khwai River. We think you might quite like it.
Within the Okavango Delta’s community-run Khwai Concession, Khwai Leadwood Botswana is a stunning little camp and is ideally nestled along the treeline on the edge of the Khwai River. This river is all that separates the iconic Moremi Game Reserve and the concession, with hippos, elephants and even lions crossing over from time to time.
The elegantly designed camp hosts six standard tents and one family unit, all well placed with expansive views and shade from the riverine forest, keeping in line with the intimate and exclusive wilderness experience. The new camp effortlessly bridges the gap between luxury accommodation and feeling like you’re in the great African outdoors. Woven baskets, beaded décor, and modern elements create an authentic contemporary African style.

Rra Dinare Botswana is located within the Okavango Delta, in a private reserve alongside the Gomoti River and its flood plains. The camp is located in the same 67,000 acres concession as its sister property, Mma Dinare Camp and is designed to embrace the natural surroundings of the riverine forest. Rra Dinare is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest solar and waste technologies.
Since this area typically receives floods last, it contains some of the closest dry-season watering points for the game that spreads out towards Botswana's famous pan, Nxai and Makgadikgadi, during the rains. Around this, the dry season offers a high density of game. Still, since most of the reserve is mopane woodlands (a favourite location for animals during the rains and early dry season), good wildlife viewing is expected all year round.
