Your mobile safari will include three nights each of the two distinctly different land-based camp locations and two nights at an island camp as you explore the Delta by boat. These vastly different biomes allow you to appreciate the subtle differences between the areas and give a greater opportunity to view more wildlife in differing exciting African savannah settings.

Mobile safaris offer authentic bucket-list experiences. This Botswana adventure is a significant tick, as you get to sleep at eye level with Africa’s most sought after creatures that prowl the darkness. Safety is our top concern, and you will always be under the ever-watchful eye of your highly experienced safari guide from Endeavour Safaris.

Twin beds will be set up inside large tents of 4.5 m x 3 m x 2 to 2.5 m, built with a thick layer for insulation on the ground and a partition between the bedroom and private bathroom interior. The tents have large windows with mosquito gauze. Your mobile safari starts in Maun Botswana, with a short and scenic flight into the Moremi Game Reserve, located on the Southern tip of the Okavango Delta. The Moremi is a national park in Botswana and offers visitors a chance to see a large variety of animals nestled on the edge of waterways and amongst large trees.

The Okavango – the world's largest inland delta and a World Heritage Site – is simply an incredible wild sanctuary of lush water channels, shallow reed beds and deep lagoons, flood plains and higher dry 'islands' each created as the floodwaters flow their way, annually, from the source in Angola creating this unique wetland habitat. It can take six months or so for the water to flow down from Angola, meaning that unusually the Delta receives its water in the dry season.

This watery wonderland offers big game viewing and fantastic birdlife in a myriad of rich and varied picturesque habitats.

There will be a transfer between Moremi Game Reserve & Khwai Private Reserve, yet fortunately, these two reserves do border each other forming a natural wildlife corridor, and so will thus ensure you get a continued game experience along the way. The drive time is dictated by what exciting animal activities and sightings are found en route and can be from only a few hours to many, as the group enjoys and decides the days' events.

The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season, when water is plentiful, and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season. The Khwai area offers the same wildlife experience as the reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession which means the ability to do walking safaris and night drives.

A short bush-flight in a light aircraft will have you meeting your boating safari team in mere minutes. From here, your adventure takes you to the myriad of streams and waterways as you follow ancient hippo and elephants paths, which have been worn and maintained over centuries by these giant herbivores as they move between feeding grounds.

To explore this incredible landscape by boat is one of the most rewarding ways to view the world-famous Okavango Delta in Botswana. You will navigate the channels on aluminium T- Craft boats and, once again, sleep in comfortable tented accommodation at private campsites on some of the estimated 50,000 islands of the Okavango Delta. The campsites are set on Nxaraga Lagoon and Chao Islands, considered the heart of the Delta.

Whether you are a keen photographer, slightly adventurous at heart, or just wanting to appreciate a pristine and remote wilderness, boating in the Okavango will give you a uniquely unforgettable experience.
