Zanzibar Private Villa

With space, social distancing and private experiences being even more key, a Zanzibar private villa is a wonderful option for any travelling party, couple or small family to multigenerational friends or extended family.

In fact, it may well be one of our favourite accommodation options on the islands.

The Zanzibar archipelago, one of the most historic Indian Ocean islands, is simply awash with idyllic beach experiences.

While these islands’ offer much to see, do and discover. The real attraction is simply doing nothing, alongside Zanzibar’s biggest draw, being its beautiful white sand beaches and turquoise waters.

Where better to relax and be pampered than in your own personal space?

Zanzibar Private Villa

Boutique properties, such as the exclusive villas at Xanadu, offer personalised full-service luxury and are typically all-inclusive with regards to meals, food preparation, drinks and butler service.  Xanadu offers eight (soon to be nine) separate, private, luxury villas.  Each villa is different; five villas are one bedroom and three villas are two bedroomed properties suitable for families. Each comes with palatial en-suite bathrooms, its own outside space, private plunge pool and personal butler. Here your every whim is catered to, you may dine privately in your villa with all meals, drinks and snacks included, with much of the produce coming from the property’s own vegetable and herb garden, what they cannot produce they strive to source sustainably and locally.  Alongside your villa you will have access to a restaurant and bar, full serviced spa and, of course, the all-important beach and ocean!

Zuri Zanzibar offers, essentially, a perfect fusion of an amazing luxurious hotel offering, with the additional exceptional privacy and service of a private villa.  Here each of Zuri Zanzibar’s  African and European designed hosted villas include separate en-suite bedroom/s, a living area, kitchen and dining area and entertainment room.  Alongside the all-important spacious outdoor terrace, private pool, jacuzzi and beach access.  There is the option of a private chef and personalised butler service in addition to your own private villa ‘host’.

If you’re looking for a true “Island” getaway, consider Mnemba Island for sheer barefoot luxury.  The tiny island is just 1.5 km (less than a mile) and is the ultimate escape with just one property of twelve ‘rustically chic beachside bandas’. Intimate and relaxed, you plan exactly how and where you would like to spend your time and Mnemba Island’s team will make it happen.

Kilindi Zanzibar is another fantastic and unique offering.  A series of just fifteen white-domed “Pavilion” guest rooms are set in a huge fifty acres of tropical gardens. This is a rare find of Scandinavian and Arabic architecture, fans of Abba will be delighted to know it was originally designed for Benny Andersson. Each of the fifteen Pavilions, spa and restaurant are dotted around the property to ensure uninterrupted views over the beachfront by exploiting the elevation and expanse. Each Pavilion has, of course, en-suite rooms but also its own private plunge pool and a dedicated butler who will cater to you and offer your meals and various places to enjoy the same.

The Residence, on the south western sheltered part of Zanzibar’s main island, is a villa only luxurious five-star contemporary mix of African, Omani and British and Indian style. Totally blended with the beauty of Zanzibar’s beaches and garden fauna. The villas here offer spacious privacy, each with its own private swimming pool, garden and beach or ocean view. Aside from the opulent en-suite villas with indoor/outdoor showers, their own living areas and outdoor decks the property has two restaurants and a full service spa.
