Kruger

The iconic Kruger National Park is steeped in history, vast landscapes and spectacular African wildlife. At just under 20,000Km squared Kruger is one of the largest parks in Africa, half the size of the Netherlands and larger than Belgium or Wales.

For many, the main drawcard is the game reserves, where species co-exist as they have for millennia in a primal wilderness that speaks to the soul. South Africa still offers among the best-value safari opportunities coupled with limitless luxury, comparable to any on the continent.

It is a national park, with camping areas and many self drive safari go-ers.  However, we only offer fly-in exclusive safari’s to the outer reaches of the Park, on the edge of Mozambique or up to the north of the area.

Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

Adjacent to the world famous Kruger national Park, sharing an unfenced border, is  The Sabi Sand Game Reserve a collection of neighbouring popular private reserves and together with the Timbavati, Manyeleti which form part of the Greater Kruger National Park. All of these areas are easily accessible from Johannesburg or other airports and contain some of the most luxurious and comfortable camps and lodges on the continent in an incredibly game rich are where it is possible to see all the big five in one morning’s game drive!

The rich game viewing is year-round fed by two constant rivers (the Sabie and the Sands) creating a riverine wildlife region. In particular, leopard thrive in this region, and being used to the presence of vehicles and people, it is rare not to see one on a game drive.

Truly, though, what Sabi Sands apart is the number of luxurious lodges and great guides. These lodges are among the best hotels in the world in their own right; gorgeous accommodations, amazing cuisines and wines, infinity pools with stunning views and full spa offerings will really spoil any visitor while the guides’ sheer joy at the area, knowledge and passion shines through on any outing, drive or bush walk.

While Sabi-Sands may be the best known of the Kruger adjacent private reserves, it is not the only wildlife packed area here offering stunning lodges. Other reserves include the the Timbavati, Manyeleti and Thornybush.
