No visit to Zimbabwe would be complete without experiencing the awe-inspiring grandeur of Victoria Falls. Known as "The Smoke That Thunders," this majestic waterfall is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sheer power and scale of the falls are simply mesmerising, and they offer the perfect starting point, or ending to a Safari Guru designed travel itinerary.

Activities abound around Victoria Falls, catering to both thrill-seekers and those seeking a more relaxed experience. Adrenaline junkies can indulge in exhilarating activities such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and helicopter rides, providing a unique perspective of the falls from above. For a more serene experience, take a leisurely sunset cruise on the Zambezi River or embark on a guided tour of the surrounding rainforest, witnessing a variety of endemic flora and fauna.

Located in northwestern Zimbabwe, Hwange National Park is the country's largest game reserve and a true haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The park boasts a diverse ecosystem, ranging from dense forests to open grasslands, providing a home to a remarkable array of flora and fauna, including its abundant elephant population, with over 40,000 majestic elephants roaming freely throughout the park.

In the far north of Zimbabwe, along the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, lies the enchanting Mana Pools National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, wildlife-rich floodplains, and the unique experience it offers to visitors.

Mana Pools is famous for its up-close encounters with wildlife, as there are no physical barriers between humans and animals. Here, you can walk alongside elephants, observe hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance, and witness the incredible skill of predatory animals during the dry season, as they converge on the riverbanks for water.

The park is a haven for photographers, with its stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife providing endless opportunities to capture breathtaking images.

Zimbabwe's highlights, including Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park, and Mana Pools, offer a captivating blend of natural wonders, wildlife encounters, and unparalleled beauty.

Zimbabwe offers daily international flights from Victoria Falls and Harare and is considered a convenient entry or exit location for many sub-Saharan safari itineraries. Victoria Falls also has quick and easy access by road to Botswana and Zambia.

Hi Deon, the trip was fantastic.  Saw all the animals except leopard, got nice and close with lions, cheetah and wild dogs.  The camp team looked after us really well (we got very fat on chef’s amazing food) and our guide Paul was outstanding.  The trip home was an adventure, too stormy to fly and then the roads were flooded but the driver was very knowledgeable and took us out through a coal mine (after crossing two torrents) and we actually got to the airport an hour early. Thank you once again.
