The River Club offers a realistic experience by combining the natural heritage of the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls, culturally-extraordinary Livingstone-town as well as visits to Simonga Village, an authentic piece of present-day semi-rural life.

Soaked in ambience and history; the lodge's main building is a well-appointed rebuilt 1940's homestead with a comfortable lounge, dining room, and library complete with wrap-around veranda and gift shop. Meals are often enjoyed on the veranda, in the Gazebo, around the infinity pool or in the lush gardens beneath the trees. There are many alternatives for private dining, making The River Club relaxed and easy for purposes of social distancing. A secluded deck above the river adds to the infinity pool area which seems part of the river itself. For the energetic, the croquet lawn, the gymnasium, walking/running trail and all-weather tennis court are perfect. A 'Summerhouse' and snooker room provide additional areas to enjoy. Beauty treatments are available in the Wellness Centre.

Eleven spacious, private suites are individually set within the tree line along the edge of the magnificent Zambezi. From their elevated positions, the suites are perfectly situated to gaze across the river to the Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe on the opposite bank, home to an array of wildlife and birds in an area of abundant natural beauty. Renowned for their spectacular views and romantic ambience, each suite looks west into the glorious African sunset, idyllically viewed from the privacy of the ball-and-claw bath.

A host of activities await young and old, on-property as well as in the nearby area. Located only a short distance from the historic town of Livingstone and the renowned Victoria Falls, The River Club is the perfect retreat for families, friends, couples, honeymooners or those looking to complete a safari circuit in Southern or East Africa.

Activities available include tours of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, sundowner cruises, catch and release sport fishing, visiting a nearby village, museum and market trips, scenic flights over the waterfall, Livingstone Island (where the famous seasonal Devils and Angels Pools are), white water rafting, bungee jumping, canoeing, quad biking and Segway rides. The area is steeped in local history and rich in wildlife; hippos and elephants are seen regularly, and birdlife is prolific.

We recently returned from Kenya, had a fabulous safari designed by Deon de Villiers of Safari Guru. We had some wonderful sightings and the whole thing went without a single hiccup. The guides were excellent. Deon was so helpful in allowing us to reschedule several times due to COVID restrictions preventing travel. We visited Sirikoi in the Lewa Conservancy and Serian Ngare, Serian Nkorombo and Mara Plains at Masai Mara, each place offering a different experience, each special in its own way. Loved the rhinocerous at Lewa, giraffe giving birth at Ngare, hippopotamus at Nkorombo and cats at Mara Plains, and so so much more. We highly recommend Deon and the Safari Guru team.

We finally got to take our Kenya/Rwanda adventure with Safari Guru post pandemic. Our trip was a fantastic experience that immersed us in Africa. The holiday went as planned, everything was organised so we were gently steered from place to place, which we enjoyed as we found we weren't "travel fit" after sitting on sidelines for two years! Our lodges in Kenya were beautiful, nice and small, felt like you were part of a family, rather than a customer! Rwanda was a highlight, an amazing country with a shocking past that is moving forward beautifully. The advice from Deon to do two gorilla walks was perfect. Our first day we hiked in to mountain and when we got there the heavens opened and it didn't stop! The scouts found 6 gorillas for us to glimpse as they were hiding from rain too! We trekked down in the mud, rivers of water ending up bedraggled! It was a great experience but the next day was perfect! Beautiful blue skies, trekked up and gorillas were everywhere, sunning themselves and eating vigorously. Was awesome being so close and they couldn't care less! Would highly recommend safari Guru, they planned us a perfect holiday and are easy to contact with queries and answer promptly. Travelling on our own was great as each place we stayed, there were like travellers from around the world to socialise with. Thanks Deon and Ashley

Botswana! What an incredible destination as we begin to travel again. This is a trip of a lifetime. The game drives were exhilarating, the people are friendly, the food fantastic, and the accommodations are meant to spoil you.
