Rra Dinare Botswana is located within the Okavango Delta, in a private reserve alongside the Gomoti River and its flood plains. The camp is located in the same 67,000 acres concession as its sister property, Mma Dinare Camp and is designed to embrace the natural surroundings of the riverine forest. Rra Dinare is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest solar and waste technologies.

Since this area typically receives floods last, it contains some of the closest dry-season watering points for the game that spreads out towards Botswana's famous pan, Nxai and Makgadikgadi, during the rains. Around this, the dry season offers a high density of game. Still, since most of the reserve is mopane woodlands (a favourite location for animals during the rains and early dry season), good wildlife viewing is expected all year round.

The camp's central area is built with open, thatched space allowing guests to relax and enjoy the untamed wilderness whilst watching endless animal and bird species from the comfort of an armchair or the bar. The swimming pool and curio shop complete the luxurious, relaxed feel of Rra Dinare Botswana.

Each of the eight spacious and stylish tents overlooks the animal-studded Gomoti River floodplains allowing for game viewing from your private deck or lounge area. One family tent can accommodate two adults and two children in two bedrooms sharing one bath. Each standard tent is identical in footprint with an en-suite bathroom and shower, suitable for twin beds or one double bed.

Day and night game drives are often within the private concession adjacent to the well-known and celebrated Moremi Game Reserve. These are on- and off-road safaris, comprising six people, a guide, and a tracker (at night). Rra Dinare also offers seasonal water activities on the Gomoti river, and game walks are available depending on local conditions.

As Rra Dinare is in a private concession, you have the opportunity to drive and follow wildlife off-road and search for sightings in remote regions. Also, the private reserve allows you to explore at night with spotlights in search of nocturnal species.

The mokoro trip is the quintessential delta experience. Nothing is more relaxing than poling along the lagoon and channels with your guide, soaking up the atmosphere and seeing things from a different perspective. Mokoro trips can only be offered seasonally when water levels allow.

Guided walks are generally offered year-round but are rainfall dependant! An area is chosen at the guide's discretion and in keeping a safe distance from large herds of elephants and buffalo, which can be common in the area.

We recently returned from Kenya, had a fabulous safari designed by Deon de Villiers of Safari Guru. We had some wonderful sightings and the whole thing went without a single hiccup. The guides were excellent. Deon was so helpful in allowing us to reschedule several times due to COVID restrictions preventing travel. We visited Sirikoi in the Lewa Conservancy and Serian Ngare, Serian Nkorombo and Mara Plains at Masai Mara, each place offering a different experience, each special in its own way. Loved the rhinocerous at Lewa, giraffe giving birth at Ngare, hippopotamus at Nkorombo and cats at Mara Plains, and so so much more. We highly recommend Deon and the Safari Guru team.

We finally got to take our Kenya/Rwanda adventure with Safari Guru post pandemic. Our trip was a fantastic experience that immersed us in Africa. The holiday went as planned, everything was organised so we were gently steered from place to place, which we enjoyed as we found we weren't "travel fit" after sitting on sidelines for two years! Our lodges in Kenya were beautiful, nice and small, felt like you were part of a family, rather than a customer! Rwanda was a highlight, an amazing country with a shocking past that is moving forward beautifully. The advice from Deon to do two gorilla walks was perfect. Our first day we hiked in to mountain and when we got there the heavens opened and it didn't stop! The scouts found 6 gorillas for us to glimpse as they were hiding from rain too! We trekked down in the mud, rivers of water ending up bedraggled! It was a great experience but the next day was perfect! Beautiful blue skies, trekked up and gorillas were everywhere, sunning themselves and eating vigorously. Was awesome being so close and they couldn't care less! Would highly recommend safari Guru, they planned us a perfect holiday and are easy to contact with queries and answer promptly. Travelling on our own was great as each place we stayed, there were like travellers from around the world to socialise with. Thanks Deon and Ashley
