MalaMala Game Reserve is renowned for consistently producing some of the most exciting wildlife experience in South Africa, including the Big 5, and so much more!
This private reserve, which has garnered an inspiring number of repeat guest clientele, is sandwiched between the world-renowned Kruger National Park and the wildlife-rich Sabi Sands Game Reserve - often referred to as the best game reserve in South Africa. MalaMala was the industry's blueprint to the now popular luxury photographic safari with the owners taking custody of this land in 1927. MalaMala boasts of being one of the largest private game reserves in South Africa; comprising 13 300 ha (33 000 acres). The private reserve shares a 19 km (12 miles) unfenced border with its neighbours, the private Sabi Sands, including Londolozi Private Reserve, Nottens and Kirkman's Kamp. A brilliant wildlife oasis in the middle of the African bushveld, MalaMala Game Reserve offers three beautiful camps ensuring visitors get the most from the surrounding wilds. Every design element of these three beautiful camps guarantees visitors appreciate the exciting aspects of the wilderness. Well thought out pathways wind their way along the perimeter of the three camps to reveal individual ochre coloured suites - carefully tucked into the lush greenery which flanks the Sand River. Massive trees and rolling green lawns are filled with birdsong, with the occasional antelope or elephant which wander the grounds.
MalaMala Camp
MalaMala Camp, originally known as "Main Camp," was the first safari camp on the MalaMala Game Reserve. This iconic camp has only just recently been "re-imagined", yet, the distinctly African character is still intact, however, inspired with a more contemporary edge.
