DumaTau Camp Botswana
View front DumaTau Camp over lagoon

DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion,’ is located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve on the western boundary of Chobe National Park. The area is famed for large herds of elephants and exceptional game viewing along the Savute Channel.

This fully refurbished luxury camp offers your own private elephant viewing! DumaTau Camp is located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, on the banks of the Linyanti River. Close to the source of the Savute Channel, it sits between two elephant 'corridors.' So you may sit in camp, cold drink in hand, and watch the elephants cross the Osprey Lagoon as they move effortlessly between Namibia and Botswana.

The camp is exceptionally luxurious. Consisting of ten guest tents (eight twins and two family tents) raised off the ground to take advantage of the dramatic views. Each canvas-roofed en-suite tent is spacious and offers unimpeded vistas through ceiling-height glass sliding doors leading to decks and a private plunge pool. There is an airy, expansive dining and lounge area and a pool overlooking the wildlife-rich lagoon. The architecture and interiors evoke a bygone age of exploration, acacia woods, and hand-crafted mosaic tiles, carried through the main areas and ending on a floating fire deck. A brand new spa will cater to every aching muscle.

DumaTau has a very light carbon footprint and runs on 100% solar energy.

DumaTau offers an exclusive combination of land and river experiences and has access to the Linyanti waters, floodplains, and mopane woodlands, thus offering an excellent variety of habitats. So come here not only for the elephants but also for great predator sightings, such as lion, wild dog, and leopard, during the dry season. The area is also renowned for general wildlife, including red lechwe, Burchell's zebra, giraffe, buffalo, hyena, and warthog.

Wildlife activities include day and night game drives, walks, and boating along the Linyanti River's serene waters. Be sure to take some time out and spend an afternoon on the barge with a chilled cocktail in hand as the sun dips into a Namibian background. With some luck, Africa's majestic elephants will play a part and share in one of Botswana's most sought-after vistas.
